Creating Prints and Digital Art using Creative Support Work – Studio Sessions in Gordonvale
Hi, it’s Nicolette here again, and I wanted to share some of the recent creative work I’ve been doing with one of my long-term clients. We’ve been working together for a few years now across a range of visual art and design projects, and it’s been amazing to watch her skills and confidence grow.
Lately, we’ve been focusing on turning her beautiful hand-drawn illustrations into high-quality art prints. The process has involved scanning her original drawings, cleaning them up in Photoshop, and preparing them for print using my studio printer. It’s been a great way to combine traditional art techniques with digital tools, and she's taken to it all with so much enthusiasm.
These sessions have also included hands-on Photoshop learning – from file setup and editing, to colour adjustment and layout – all tailored to her own artwork and goals. Being able to use digital tools like Photoshop in a creative support setting has opened up a lot of new possibilities, not just for self-expression but also for small-scale creative business ideas.
She’s even started selling some of her prints, which is a huge achievement. If you’re interested in checking them out or supporting her work, feel free to reach out and I can connect you.
We’ve recently started experimenting with the Wacom tablet, too. Learning to draw directly into the computer is definitely a skill that takes time, but the creative outcomes are so worth it. Next up, we’ll be diving into Adobe Illustrator and I can’t wait to see what she creates.
All of this is part of the creative support work I offer from my studio in Gordonvale, just outside Cairns. I provide person-centred, one-on-one sessions for NDIS participants, with a focus on using art and design to build confidence, learn new skills, and explore personal or professional goals. Whether you're after digital art support, printmaking help, or general creative mentorship, I offer flexible and inclusive support services tailored to the individual.
